Rotala rotundifolia “Singapore” | Aquatic Plant

Rotala rotundifolia ‘Singapore’, also known as “Blood Red Singapore,” boasts the most intense red color among all Rotala rotundifolia varieties.
Under similar conditions, it exhibits a deeper red shade compared to R. rotundifolia ‘Colorata’.
The plant’s shoots tend to grow mostly upright to ascending, and in very strong light, they may even grow horizontally.
While these shoots can reach lengths of over 50 cm, they appear more attractive when kept at a height of about 20 – 40 cm through regular cutting and replanting.
Rotala rotundifolia ‘Singapore’ shares the same fast growth and easy care as other round-leaved Rotala varieties.
It can thrive in moderate lighting without added CO2, but it truly shines with strong light, supplemented CO2, and comprehensive macro and micronutrient fertilization via the water column.
Propagation is straightforward using head cuttings and side shoots.
As a midground or background plant, Rotala rotundifolia ‘Singapore’ stands out as a striking bush, reaching a height of approximately 20 – 40 cm.
It pairs beautifully with light green plants and contributes a rich red hue to the diverse palette of R. rotundifolia forms.
