Blue Dream belongs to the category of colorful shrimp, so they are quite easy to care for. All types of colorful shrimp are easy to care for. They are different from bee shrimp. They are simple, adaptable, robust, and do not require water to be constantly cold (<25°C). Simply set up a tank with substrate, small filtration, some aquatic plants, and small moss, and you can raise shrimp. The tank doesn’t need to be too large either. A moderately sized tank of 10-30 liters of water is sufficient for easy shrimp keeping. It’s advisable to have a few nerite snails in the shrimp tank to help clean up any harmful algae.
The best food for colorful shrimp and Blue Dream is dried mulberry leaves or specialized shrimp pellets.
Dried mulberry leaves are a favorite food of shrimp. They contain various vitamins and nutrients that aid in shrimp digestion, enhance coloration… With mulberry leaves, you can boil them and store them in the refrigerator for shrimp to eat over time. Shrimp pellets are also a good choice for shrimp keepers. Shrimp pellets are convenient, easy to store, and can be fed at any time, as shrimp are small and don’t require much food. You can feed shrimp once a day. It’s also advisable to supplement the shrimp with some mineral supplements to ensure they have enough nutrients for molting and growth.
Note:
You can keep shrimp with small freshwater fish such as horse-faced loaches, triangular prisms, neon tetras, rainbowfish… as long as the shrimp are larger than the mouths of the fish. If you want to breed shrimp, it’s not recommended to keep them with fish because shrimp offspring are very small and can easily be eaten by fish.
If you’re setting up a new tank, you should fill it with water, run the filter for about 5-7 days before adding shrimp because new substrate has a lot of nutrients, if you add shrimp immediately, they are very likely to die.
They are very sensitive to chemicals so be careful when using mosquito repellents or room sprays.
